Tenuro

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 29, 2026

1. Core Philosophy: 100% Offline & Privacy-First

Tenuro ("the Extension") was built from the ground up with your privacy as the absolute highest priority. The core functionality of Tenuro operates 100% offline. We do not track, collect, store, or sell your personal data, browsing history, or bookmarks.

2. Where Your Data is Stored

All your data—including your bookmarks, folders, tags, workspace sessions, and settings—never leaves your device. Everything is stored securely and locally on your computer using native browser storage mechanisms (IndexedDB and Chrome Local Storage). We have no servers that receive, process, or store your bookmark data.

3. External Communications

Because Tenuro is designed to be offline-first, it only ever makes network requests in the following highly specific scenarios:

  • Favicons: The extension retrieves standard website icons (favicons) directly from the websites you bookmark to display them in the interface. This is a direct connection between your browser and the bookmarked website.
  • Pro License Verification: If you purchase and activate Tenuro Pro, the extension communicates securely with our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) solely to validate your license key. The only data transmitted during this process is the license key itself and a generic device identifier to manage active seats.

4. Permissions Explained

Tenuro requests certain browser permissions strictly to provide its features:

  • Bookmarks: To read, organize, and edit your bookmarks.
  • Storage: To save your custom tags, smart folders, and UI preferences locally.
  • Tabs & ActiveTab: To allow you to save your currently open tabs into Workspace sessions, or to open your saved bookmarks in background tabs.
  • Host Permissions: To allow the extension to capture the URLs of open tabs when you save a Workspace session, and to load favicons for your saved links.

5. Changes to this Policy

If we ever add new features that require changes to how data is handled, we will update this Privacy Policy. However, our core commitment to building a privacy-first, offline tool will never change.
